Dvadsaťšesťročná Regan Patterson z Orlanda bola vo veľmi zlom vzťahu. Jej partner ju týral a ona nevedela, ako to riešiť, a tak sa obrátila na McDonald´s a podobné fastfoody. Ani nevedela ako a odrazu neskutočne pribrala.

Regan sa však rozhodla svoj život zmeniť, rozišla sa so svojim násilným priateľom a dala sa na chudnutie. Podarilo sa jej zhodiť neskutočných 40 kíl! „Cítiť sa dobre vo svojej vlastnej koži je úžasné. Prišla som o toľko rôznych zážitkov, a to všetko len preto, že som nemala žiadne sebavedomie,“ priznáva.

Opustila ho a neskutočne schudla.

Same shirt, almost 4 years difference, much different fit! ⁣ ⁣ Same girl, different lifestyle! ⁣ ⁣ Do I still eat cookies like I did in the first picture? Darn right! 😃⁣ ⁣ But now if I have a cookie, I enjoy it and move on. ⁣ ⁣ I used to think I had something “bad” and would say “screw it” and just continue to spiral out. ⁣ ⁣ Now if I want a cookie, I log a cookie, eat it, enjoy it, and move on! ⁣ ⁣ I’ve never felt like I’ve had this type of food freedom, and it’s the best feeling in the world. I can eat the foods I love and still hit my goals! #flexibledieting ⁣ ⁣ It takes time to find your balance, just keep working at it every single day. You will get there! ⁣ ⁣ You are not stuck, lost, or hopeless. It’s all just a part of learning and a part of your journey that will get you to where you want to be. ♥️

Regan si uvedomila, ako veľmi ovplyvňuje jej vzťah jej život ešte v roku 2011. Vtedy sa totiž začala upínať na nezdravé jedlo a poriadne pribrala. „Keď som začala chodiť na strednú, neskutočne som pribrala,“ spomína.

Jedného dňa mala však už po krk toho, ako sa zle sa cítila vo vlastnom tele a rozhodla sa pre zmenu. Fastfoody vymenila za zdravú stravu, opäť začala cvičiť a celkovo zmenila svoj prístup. Aj vďaka tomu sa jej podarilo schudnúť neskutočných 40 kíl.

Svoj život otočila naruby.

My top 5️⃣ tips for fat loss: ⁣ ⁣ 1. Eat and exercise in such a way that you can do forever. Any plan that you can only do for 30, 60, or 90 days will yield temporary results. Temporary actions = temporary results. Sustainability is key! ⁣ ⁣ 2. You don’t have to track your calories forever, but I bet if you tracked your food for at least a week you would realize just how much you’re really eating. And just because you don’t track something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t count! ⁣ ⁣ 3. This one I talk about all the time: patience! Be realistic. Instead of seeing how much progress you can make in a month, start thinking longer term. Give yourself at least a year to make drastic changes. If not longer. 😉 Going into it knowing that it’s going to take a long time keeps things in perspective and you’re going to be less likely to give up when it doesn’t happen as fast as you want it to. ⁣ ⁣ 4. Ditch the all or nothing mindset. It will keep you spinning your wheels. (Trust me, I’ve been there!) Eating a donut, some pizza, or fries sometimes will not hinder your progress. It actually helps people feel less deprived and able to stick to their caloric deficit better/longer! ⁣ ⁣ 5. Prioritize your sleep and manage your stress! Lack of sleep and high stress can lead to a high calorie consumption. Make sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night, and find ways that help you de-stress when you need it! Teraz je teda nezadaná, spokojná sama so sebou a v zdravej strave a cvičení pokračuje i naďalej.  Sama však priznáva, že si občas aj dopraje, lebo si myslí, že si to zaslúži. A tak si občas dá aj nejakú šišku či niečo sladké.

Teraz pravidelne cvičí a je zdravo.

I am so glad I found this picture on the left because I always tried to cover up my arms once I realized how much weight I really gained after high school. ⁣ ⁣ I spent years so ashamed of my body. ⁣ ⁣ Didn’t go to the beach (and I live in Florida!) cause that would require me to show more of my body and all I wanted to wear was sleeves to cover my arms and pants to cover up my legs. ⁣ ⁣ There’s so much I missed out on because of my body. And of course, there is no right or wrong way to look, but I couldn’t help feeling insecure since I played sports all my life and never had issues with my weight until after high school. ⁣ ⁣ I get asked “how did you change your arms?” Or “how did you slim down your legs?” “How did you get your belly to flatten down?” ⁣ ⁣ All the same way: calorie deficit and patience. ⁣ ⁣ You can’t pick where it comes off. It’s going to come off where it comes off first, you just have to be patient! ⁣ ⁣ Everyone has different stubborn areas, but it’s not impossible to improve them! ⁣ ⁣ Just flex that patience muscle and keep on going. ♥️

The picture on the left popped up on my Facebook memories today as I posted it as a progress pic! ⁣ ⁣ It was from 3 years ago, so about a year into my journey, so this was not anywhere near my heaviest. I had already lost about 60 lbs! ⁣ ⁣ 3 years later and my body composition is still improving! It’s so fun to watch your body transform over time. ⁣ ⁣ I always tell my clients to have fun on their journey. My weight loss journey was SO fun and I’d go back and do it a million times over. ⁣ ⁣ Celebrate the small victories because they all add up to HUGE accomplishments. ⁣ ⁣ So instead of thinking how long it will take or how hard it will be, think of how fun it’s going to be to celebrate all the victories along the way and watch your body change! 💪🏼
